Mini Series – Spring, Day 1

April 3, 2017

Hey, glad you could join me today.  I’m working on another Mini Series, all about spring.  My first card is perfect for today, because it’s starting to rain here as I type this post.  The puppy and the puddles are from Hero Arts’ Fun In The Rain stamp set.  I stamped the puddles down the left side of a piece of watercolor paper, using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.  Then I misted the paper with water to make the color move a little bit.

You can see some of the color bleeding in this close up.  I stamped the dog in Versafine Onyx Black Ink, and heat embossed the image in clear.  Then I colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a waterbrush.  I love how well these pens blend with water.  I think the dog looks like a beagle.  I die cut the dog with the matching dies (but you could easily cut it out with scissors), and laid it over the puddles to get the right placement for the sentiment.  I stamped it in black and heat embossed in clear.

I die cut my white panel with a Stitched Rectangle Die from Simon Says Stamp, and matted it onto a blue piece of cardstock.  Then I adhered it to my white card base with tape runner.  I attached the puppy with foam tape, and added the Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh with Glossy Accents.

I’ve been invited to play along with the card challenge at Word Art Wednesday, and I’m excited to play along.  Will you join me?  Hope I see you there, and I’ll be back soon with another post in my Spring Mini Series!

  1. Such a cute design. Thank you for blessing us with your artwork here at Word Art Wednesday. We are starting another Challenge today and I hope you join us again. Leaving you with the inspiration of God’s Word found in 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 which tells us, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” Have an awesome week.
